Our Focus
Support the Sandra Showalter Williams Foundation.
The Sandra Showalter Williams Foundation is committed to breaking the cycle of poverty. We fund programs that uplift children, families, and communities. We provide educational activities and support. We also offer books written specifically to help young people break the cycle of poverty.
How Can You Help Break The Cycle of Poverty?
We offer a variety of ways that you can support our mission. You can donate to the foundation for as little as $1. We are offering books for sale, with the proceeds going to the Foundation.
Our programs provide a wide variety of services to help the underprivileged break the cycle of poverty by providing physical and emotional support. We also fund programs to give basic medical care to those in need.
WHEN YOU BUY OUR BOOKS, YOU SUPPORT OUR PROGRAMS FOR THE COMMUNITIES!
Our Programs
These are a few of our most recent programs. Each and every year, we carry out more than 1000 programs across the country, involving people of every age, interests and needs.
HELP US TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THE CHILDREN'S FUTURE
-
Eye Exams For Children
Sight is critical for so many everyday functions, from reading the blackboard to playing basketball. We provide free eye exams and subsidized prescription eyewear so no child needs to squint when they look for their future.
-
Special Needs
Bringing up a healthy and happy child is particularly challenging for underprivileged families dealing with children who have special needs. We offer daily assistance to these families, in the form of after-school help and other activities.
-
Free Medical Care
Our medical center is open every day from noon to midnight to receive patients without appointments or referrals. We offer everything from flu shots to X-rays, and have a 24-hour call center for telephone inquiries.
-
After-School Activities
When school is over for the day, not all children have a comfortable environment to come home to. In our after school activity programs we offer a warm place to stay, study, play, eat and relax.
-
Animal Therapy
Numerous studies have shown that being with animals helps people overcome learning difficulties, emotional challenges and more. Not every family can have a household pet, so our animal center enables children to enjoy the benefit of having a pet without the cost.
-
Toy Donations
Some children have more toys than they know what to do with, while others have few good toys to speak of. We strive to matchmake between toyts and youngsters in need with our yearlong toy exchange program.
